Scalia/Ginsburg Performance Postponed

← Back to All News

Dear Friends,

As much as Opera Las Vegas was looking forward to presenting a truly first-class production of Derrick Wang’s Scalia/Ginsburg, 19-22 March, we value even more the health and well-being of our patrons, artists, staff, and community at large. Therefore, we feel it prudent to cancel these performances of Scalia/Ginsburg at this time, with a hope to reschedule this delightful piece to open our 21st anniversary season.

Owing to circumstances beyond our control, namely the unpredictable spread of the COVID-19 virus, we regret that we are unable to entertain you next week with our terrific cast, outstanding musicians, and inspired creative team. This decision was made after full consideration of the facts, and in consonance with other performing arts groups and local arts allies.

Ticket sales account for valuable operating funds, so we do not make the decision lightly, since the production has already incurred considerable expenses. Therefore, if you would like to donate your ticket purchase price to OLV, we would be extremely grateful. Opera Las Vegas will automatically refund your tickets through PayPal, unless you agree to make your purchase a donation by emailing: [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding and support. We will update you soon about the status of the remainder of OLV’s Twentieth Anniversary Season. Please stay safe, and we look forward very soon to: “See You at the Opera.” Better times are ahead!

Best to you and yours,
Jim Sohre
General Director
Opera Las Vegas
