Love Potion No.9 Gala Highlights

Thanks to all our friends and supporters this year’s Love Potion No.9 Gala was a huge
sell-out success.

Our goal was a memorable night of non-stop entertainment, “sin-sational” food, quality service, and light-hearted fun. Thanks to all our outstanding auction donors and bidders, the company more than doubled its anticipated goal. Bravo!

We’d like to salute all the entertainers who kept the energy and tempo pulsing all night long – local rising stars Athena Mertes, Rebecca Morris and Richard L Hodges, joined by Metropolitan Opera star Gregory Schmidt . . . with a special shout-out to the mega-talented Keith Thompson and The Cocktail Cabaret foursome: Niki Scalera, Valerie Witherspoon, Randall Keith and Ron Remke. Plus, a special nod to the endearing staging by the Opera Las Vegas Youth Chorus – now in its second season.

How fitting to honor the remarkable Jerry Nadal of Cirque du Soleil with the company’s first Arts Leadership Award for his “exceptional, enduring and longtime support of the arts both on and off the Strip in Southern Nevada.” Thanks to Jerry for sharing such inspired insights that unite all the arts as kindred spirits.

For everyone who made a matching gift at the gala, know that every penny of your contribution supports the season’s Mainstage and Outreach programs, including Opera with Class (in the schools and libraries) and Opera On Wheels (for free and low-cost productions in venues throughout the community). We are deeply appreciative of the generous $20,000 challenge pledged by Sustaining Trustees Chris and Anita Murray, which was met by our phenomenal supporters!
