Opera Las Vegas’ Appeal to Help Double Our Donations!

$30,000 Becomes a $60,000 Impact!

As Opera Las Vegas continues its steady march into the “next quarter century” with the current Twenty-sixth Anniversary “Season of Smiles,” Sustaining Trustees Chris and Anita Murray have generously pledged a $30,000 matching year-end donation, a dynamic springboard for the company to launch its “Thirty to Thrive” campaign.

OLV is urgently seeking opera fans and lovers of the arts to join the Murray’s by pledging $1,000 (or more) which they will match dollar for dollar. When thirty like-minded culture supporters join forces, the company will be able to enrich its resources by sixty-thousand dollars. Opera Las Vegas is aggressively seeking donors and sponsors to ensure a solid foundation as the non-profit lays the groundwork for continuing "the next twenty-five" seasons of professional opera in Las Vegas.

General Manager Jim Sohre notes, "The company is exceedingly grateful that Chris and Anita have made another unprecedented donation to ensure that Opera Las Vegas endures well into its next quarter century."

Matching funds donated to Thirty to Thrive through December 31st will help to bring educational programming like ‘O is for Opera’ to area schools, perform free concerts and family friendly fairy tale operas in diverse demographic venues, and of course, to produce world-class productions of new and classic operas.

Supporters of Opera Las Vegas play the most important role of all! Ticket sales cover only 25% of the company’s annual operating expenses, making your tax-deductible donations vital in sustaining Nevada’s largest professional opera company!

Year after year, donors support OLV’s ability to provide accessible and meaningful opera programs to audiences of all ages throughout the community. By contributing with a monthly or annual gift, you’ll help support the quality and impact of our opera “informances” in the schools, libraries and community venues. You’ll also help support the company’s Young Artist Ensemble and quality Mainstage productions at the Judy Bayley Theatre and Second Stage performances at the Jazz Cabaret at the Smith Center – both central locations in the Las Vegas Valley. You can help the OLV’s company grow and excel in a number of ways:

1. Become an official Friend of the Opera by making a donation to our Annual Fund, and receive special donor benefits.
2. Join one of OLV’s support groups for a modest fee and become engaged in the life of the company both on and off stage: Bravo Circle, Operazzi, Encore Club and Opera Angels.
3. Include Opera Las Vegas in your estate plans.
4. Become an individual or business sponsor of the Opera or advertise your business in the Mainstage Season Program.
